Side quests & where I find my inspiration
Remember I said last month I wanted to minimise distractions?
Technically, I wasn’t side-tracked by shiny things or procrastinating. I was on a side quest, Pinterest.

Inspiration + Endless scrolling
Who else finds that once they’re on Pinterest they struggle to get off? It can’t just be me.
Whenever I want to start plotting a new book my first stop is usually always Pinterest. Usually this means hours of endless scrolling, but it’s work, right? I’m a very visual person and I find that having images that are similar to what I’m picturing in my mind helps when it comes to plotting the story. It could be a general vibe or aesthetic, or it could be how I see a character or location. I use these as reference throughout my drafting process.I’ll only make the boards for published books visual because I can’t reveal all my secrets, can I?If you want to take a peek, you can find inspiration boards for Phoenix Reborn Trilogy and Tangled Bonds here:
What’s your biggest “I’m calling this productive” distraction? Mine is definitely Pinterest.
Until next time, take care,
